How long does it take to ship a cargo by international sea/air freight?
It all depends on the location and destination of the cargo. For sea freight, on average shipments take one month from the shipping date depending on the shipping schedule. For air freight, the duration is, within 2-3 weeks from flight schedule until arriving at the final address.
What causes sea freight cargo to become delayed?
Vessels essentially move in a giant loop, calling from port to port then back again. If one tiny delay occurs at one port it can cause a chain reaction for all the other ports that the particular vessel calls in on, this can add days or even weeks to a transit time.
How much does it cost to ship a cargo and what is the measurement?
For sea freight, a cargo is measured by Cubic Meter (m3) and the charge is per Cubic Meter. Sea freight is measured by Volumetric Weight. To get the exact cost of your shipment, we recommend consulting with our Salesperson.
What should I do if there’s any damage to my cargo?
If your cargo is damaged during shipping, all damage should be noted on your Delivery Order form. Contact your Salesperson immediately to proceed with the damage report and reimbursement by following our guidelines. Terms and Conditions apply.
What is the key difference between sea and air freight?
Sea freight offers a huge volume of cargo and is shipped using containers of 20ft/40ft. The shipping duration is over 2-3 weeks for Door to Door. Air freight is preferable for small or light cargo and is shipped using cargo flight. The shipping duration is shorter, within 1 week from flight schedule until arriving at the final address.
